In 1975 Porsche cowered to the to EPA Gods  concerning vehicles sold in California.  Evidence of this could be found in their powertrain line up for their loveable mid-engine 914.  California cars were optioned with a fuel injected 1.8 to meet west coast restrictions while the rest of the US fleet was outfitted with the 2.0  This cheery 1975 Porsche 914 proves that sometimes less is more.  While most examples of Porsche's entry level targa have been infected with the "tin worm", this Mars red (code L31) example was spared thanks to its Gold Coast origins.  Showing only 43k miles this car has been well preserved.  An overall exterior refinish job was performed 7 years ago by an PCA enthusiast shop.  A full de-trim before paint, high end PPG materials, and rust free genesis give this 914 a respectable outside appearance.  The interior was refreshed with new door panels during the repaint.  The seats and carpet show near-new even though they are original to the car.  The gauges and electricals function as designed including pop up head lights.  The drivetrain was pulled and a full spec check of the engine was verified before it was entirely resealed.  The trans was sent to Atlanta Motorsports for refurbishment.  This car has been in the hands of a knowledgeable PCA enthusiast for more than the last decade.  It has been part of a well maintained, sparingly driven collection of special interest vehicles.  It was plucked from throes of obscurity because of its solid bones to represent Porsche in the realm of entry level collectibles.  Don't miss a chance to add this example to your stable.  Call Dave at 434-983-1656 to discuss a virtual test drive and shipping options.
